You Love Mid-Length Skirts, But Don’t Know How to Combine Them? Here Are 3 Looks You Can Try Out!

Skirts are loved by many women, be it in formal or informal settings, but to combine a skirt with other clothes, to get a full, fashionable look, is sometimes a hard task. But don’t worry! Blogger and instragrammer Saira (@shazaira) is here to help. Her skirt-outfits will inspire you!

3 Looks, 1 Skirt

I had been on the hunt for a metallic, particularly silver, mid-length skirt, with pleats of course, but it fared super difficult to find one the perfect length for me tall self that wasn’t too short and I didn’t want a maxi. I had picked up this gold pleated material from the souk last year with plans of making it into something but never got around to it; finally got a chance to see a tailor this year, figured lets skirt it, and voila! the perfect length and a cute skirt was achieved alhamdulillah!

1. Solid knit/jumper

If you’re opting for a low-key, testing the waters kinda look, pairing your skirt with a complimentary solid knit gets the job done. Either a cropped knit or a super oversized one which can hang below your waist line (not recommended if you’re shorter). If you’ve got a mid length knit, tuck one side into your waist band and fluff the rest out to achieve this effortless ‘oh my jumper accidentally got tucked into me pants’ look which I kinda sorta love! I’ve paired mine with a light knit from American Eagle (Don’t Ask Why collection) and a pair of Keds on me feet to keep it casual!

2. Jacket

A leather or bomber jacket paired over a solid tee would also work with this look. I opted for a camo just because I liked how the print contrasted with the gold and silver and wanted a bit of a grungy look if you will! Jacket is Topshop and trainers are Zara.

3. Metallic on Metallic

er can you say overkill! but I’m so in love with it! We had our winter concert at school last week and I was ‘Mister Sun’ in one of the acts; I clearly chose the more glam side to sun dearest but I would totally wear this look again to an event or night out perhaps. Maybe I just think it works because it’s the holidays and anything (most things) obnoxiously shiny and glittery can work this time of year if you pair them correctly, but I definitely recommend you give it a go! (tag me if you do!!) The jumper and earrings are from H&M, and flats are by Vincci.

4. Mix&Match

I feel like this could be counted as that question at the end of an exam which you don’t have to do, but you get bonus marks if you do…yea that one! I fell in love with this jumper as soon as I saw it, partly because of its odd-ness and as a challenge to put together a super cool look using it. Happened to come across a silver skirt whilst we were in Istanbul and kinda sorta knew the two were meant to be! If you’re up for mixing and matching prints and textures, play around with some colors and see what looks good or contrasts/compliments nicely and you may be pleasantly surprised! xo.
