Twitter gives Ben Carson advice on how to prevent a Muslim to become president

Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson is not really feeling the idea of having a Muslim president. During an interview with the American NBC channel, Ben Carson was asked to respond on whether someone’s faith matters when it comes to becoming the president of the United States. His answer was quite interesting, especially after the Donald Trump incident that happened last week, when Trump was asked by a questioner what he was going to do to make America ‘Muslim-free’.

When Ben Carson was asked the question about whether faith matters he responded that “ It depends on what that faith is, if it’s inconsistent with the values and principles of America, then of course it should matter. But if it fits within the realm of America and consistent with the constitution, no problem”. But then the interviewer added if he thinks Islam is consistent with the constitution he quickly responded that he would not put a Muslim president in charge of the United States of America.

As expected there was a lot of backlash to Carson’s response, the council on American-Islamic Relations even called Ben Carson to leave the race of becoming the next president of the USA. Of course social media was quick to catch on to this controversial response too, it took no time before a hashtag started trending : #HowToStopAMuslimPresident . This hashtag mainly consisted sarcastic tweets by people who wanted to give Carson some advice.

What do you think? Did Ben Carson cross the line with his response?
