Eqbal Asa’d. Remember her name, because when she was 20 years old, she was set by the Guinness World Records as the youngest doctor in the world. This Palestinian Muslim woman started medical school when she was 14.
Most medicine students finish school when they are in their 30s or at least on their late 20s. But not for Eqbal, who made history with her awesome school career.
For women who wear a headscarf, role models like Eqbal are the greatest motivation there is. There are still way too many people who think all women with a headscarf are silly, oppressed girls and definitely not the brightest. Let’s prove them wrong.
