The Last 10 Nights. The most blessed period of the year for a Muslim. But what are the key things you need to know?
1. First of all – Why are they so special?
It contains within it Laylatul Qadr – The Night of Decree – a night worth more than a 1,000 months of worship.
2. What does this mean?
Simply put, this means any good deed done on this night will earn you the reward of having done that deed for 83 years.
So for example, if you gave just £10 or $10 in charity, that would be worth over £300,000 or $300,000 on if given on the night of power. Incredible right!
3. When is it?
It can be any of the last 10 nights, although the Prophet Pbuh advised us to look for it in the odd nights. Although a majority to strongly believe it to be on the 27th night.
4. Is there a particular du’a that should be recited for the last 10 nights?
Yes, it was advised by the prophet Muhammad ﷺ to recite the following supplication: اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي ‘Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul-‘afwa, fa’fu ‘anni O Allah, You are Forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me.
5. What else can you do?
Anything that is a great form of worship, such as extra Ibadah, prayer, kindness and love to family are great things to increase in the last 10 nights. Something else you can do, is increase in giving to charity too.
In the mean time, here is a great infographic (copyright @AlMaghrib), that will help you hopefully maximise your worship too!
Please keep us in your prayers and dua’s during these auspicious last 10 nights!
