Nike is Empowering Muslim Women and Breaking Stereotypes with its New Commercial

“What will they say about you? Maybe they’ll say you showed them what’s possible.” Nike has recently launched a new promo video for Nike Middle East, empowering Arab and Muslim women to do the things they love.

In this video we see hijabis running and skateboarding, despite the looks they get from the people around them. We see strong women boxing, playing soccer, free running, ice-skating, fencing and girls on motorbikes.

This commercial is part of a campaign featuring Middle Eastern athletes as the powerful, strong women they are.

Campaigns like these are extremely important to show women there is a way for them to express themselves. Nike celebrating Middle Eastern athletes is a great example.
