From New York to Paris, we’ve captured the essence of Fashion Week ranging from the alluring streets to the edgy runways. Starting with New York where history was made in terms of modest fashion by the Indonesian designer, Anniesa Hasibuan, introducing head-to-toe designs in hijab. London didn’t disappoint us with breathtaking interior aesthetics at the Anya Hindmarch show. And of course the London-based fashion blogger, Soraya Bakhtiar, hit the streets in a simple and sophisticated velvet outfit. Could this mean velvet is the new black?
We then moved our attention to Milan, where the show-stopping souk-settings at the Roberto Cavalli show was another proof Western fashion is coming nearer to Arabian attitudes. Do you remember your mom’s embarrassing grocery “souk-bags” you hated to carry because you thought they looked like trash? Well Balenciaga introduced the Bazar shopper that looks exactly like the “souk-bags” worth approximately $2,000. Still consider them trashy? And finally, rely on Istanbul to hit the runway with eye-catching modern modest wear by Ainee Suhaidi.
