Brother Ali
Brother Ali, born as Jason Douglas Newman to Christian parents is a rapper who grew up in Wisconsin, United States of America.

Although he and his parents went to church every sunday, he feels like his parents never really taught him about Christianity. ‘We went to church because my mother thought that is what good people do’, he says. ‘We didn’t really learn religion in our house.’

Brother Ali says he was always more spiritual than his parents. He had a lot of questions that kept unanswered. Initially he wanted to learn all the different religions and make his own mixture. ‘I learned a little bit about Hindoeïsm, Jewdism, but when I got to Islam I really thought I knew what Islam was.’
