Abdul Sattar Edhi passed away at the age of 88. He died from renal failure, at a Karachi hospital. People called him “Pakistan’s Mother Teresa” or “angel of mercy”, because helping others was his main purpose in life. He created Pakistan’s largest ambulance service, nursing homes, orphanages, clinics, and women’s shelters. He devoted his life to the poor and the needy.
