7 Top Reciters to Listen to During Ramadan

During Ramadan, many of us strive to increase our connection with Allah through the utilisation of the Quran. One of the easiest ways to do this is to listen to the words being recited by another.

The Prophet (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam) once said to ibn Mas’ud: “Recite to me some Qur’ān” He replied, “O messenger of Allāh! How can I recite it to you whilst it was revealed to you?” He said, “I love to hear it from other than me.”

“So I started to read from Sūrat An-Nisā until I reached the āyah that reads, ‘So how will it be when we bring from every nation a witness, and we bring you, O Muḥammad, against these people as a witness?’”

The Prophet (sall Allāhu ʿalayhi wa sallam), at this point, said to Ibn Masʿūd, “This is enough”. Ibn Masʿūd said, “I looked at him and he was shedding tears.” [Bukhari & Muslim]

The above Hadith shows how listening to the Quran from another can soften the heart and remind you that you’re listening to the words of the one who created you.

“Truly there is a reminder in this for anyone who has a heart, or who listens attentively with presence of mind.” [50:37, Quran]

These benefits as well as many others not listed are made even more powerful when the recitation is beautiful. So we’ve chosen 7 Qaris renowned for their melodious voices for you to enjoy and deepen your connection with Allah (SWT).
